KidSuper Whirls A Tornado Full of Emotions for Fall/Winter 2025
On Saturday night, a tornado of intricate streetwear, unique suits and a surprise BAPE collaboration hit the runway on KidSuper’s Fall/Winter 2025 Menswear Collection during Paris Fashion Week Men’s.
Creative director Colm Dillane has become one of the biggest names in the streetwear scene. His drawings, colorful designs and fearlessness to push the envelope for menswear overall have made him one of a kind.
The show, titled “From a Place I Have Never Been,” was held at the Halle Charlie Parker within the La Villette cultural complex in the northeast of Paris. Yet, a theatrical element would welcome guests to the show.
Not only was there a foggy catwalk made up of vapor, but a tornado installation, created by kinetic artist Daniel Wurtzel, swirled a variety of petals, strips of paper and feathers. This tornado is meant for personal interpretation but signifies what new experiences are usually like.
The opening look, modeled by Hunter Lison, consisted of an orange pleated dress, cream tulle, an extravagant light brown hat with gold tulle and a pair of white leather boots. This ensemble is mystical yet ready for the next installment of Dune.
Worn-like denim jackets, puffer ensembles and the brand’s iconic art embroidery on a variety of looks along with patchwork, prints and embellishments take the stage as the tornado keeps on gaining traction. Live vocals from Fuerza Regida added a unique and lively layer to the looks.
For Look 17, model Mathieu Simoneau stunts a rich black zip-up shirt, a buttery black trench coat with words printed on the bottom, black leather pants, black pointed shoes and a matching black briefcase. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of all-black looks, this plays around with silhouette, style and appearance in a delightful manner.
Baggy jeans, BAPE by KidSuper sneakers and cozy furs complement the burst of bright colors, animal prints and plaid pieces. Not only do the clothes keep the brand’s conceptual tradition, but it is also presented commercially, making them more approachable to consumers.
Model Mamour Majeng closed the show by wearing an off-white puffer trench coat, shirt, pants, backpack and shoes, providing an optimistic feeling towards the end.
For the finale, KidSuper did not just create an iconic fashion moment, but they created a live piece of art that will be remembered for generations to come. Opera singer Ekaterina Shelehova closed the show, walking through the vortex, singing with her incredible vocals while wearing a flowy cream dress with matching fabric, creating a perfect close to the collection.
As Dillane thanked audience members and embraced the tornado, he sported a black t-shirt, a white multicolored BAPE by KidSuper zip-up hoodie, baggy gray pants and a pair of platform black shoes.
This 50-look collection affirms that KidSuper is a place to play with art, music and fashion at the same time. Even though most people won’t understand why you are wearing a bold fashion choice to a coffee shop, the essence of being empowered by your wardrobe is what matters.
